As you may be aware, St John’s is celebrating its 150th Birthday this year. Due to restrictions we were unable to celebrate in February (the schools actual birthday) but are planning a week of celebrations in July.
To commemorate the occasion we want to commission lasting artwork to inspire and excite our children. We have spoken to WeAreSkyHigh, a local company specialising in large scale murals - you may have seen their work around the borough – and Phillippa Adams, a local artist. Our hope is that we are able to commission two murals from WeAReSkyHigh and a mosaic from Phillippa Adams.
We will be involving the children in coming up with ideas for the designs around wildlife, including our 4 house birds, for the murals and a more commemorative piece for the mosaic. To be able to achieve this and to be able to give your children an exciting celebratory week we need to fundraise.
We are launching a CrowdFunding page with JustGiving today and ask that, if you are able, you donate and that you share the page with your contacts. Although we have set our goal at £4000, this is the minimum we need to achieve all we want to do so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Please take a look at the JustGiving page where more information can be found.
After the strangest year I can remember we want to end this term on a high and to have some fun.
Thank you so much in advance for anything you can do – it really is appreciated
Kind regards,
Ann Hutchinson
