Our Year 6 Mental Health Ambassadors Beatriz, Imogen and Maya took on the important task of leading worship on mental health focussing on the theme ”Know Yourself, Grow Yourself”. They stepped up with confidence and passion, showcasing their commitment to mental health awareness. With a goal of raising awareness and promoting wellbeing and personal growth, they created an engaging and interactive experience for the entire school. They delivered insightful ideas that explored both the challenges and strategies for maintaining good mental health.

Our Mental Health Ambassadors led interactive discussions on what causes mental health problems to our children, such as stress, school pressure, anxiety and even challenges at home. Ideas on what we can do to feel better were shared, such as positive thinking, building supportive relationships and how knowing oneself can help build confidence, manage emotions. Children were reminded that it’s normal to have tough days and how important it is to seek help when needed. During worship, the ambassadors guided us through a simple yet effective breathing technique exercise to help us relax and refocus, when facing challenges.

They also helped us to reflect on the Bible verse Philippians 4:6-7, saying “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” - as well as on ‘Article 27’ of Children’s Rights: “All children and young people should be able to live in a way that helps them reach their full physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social potential.”
