Please see below some school updates and reminders
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our first St John's Summer Fete in over 2 years due to the pandemic. Join us with your family and friends in celebrating our return. Our PSA has been working tirelessly to make this event a success!
On Monday 20th June, St John’s will be celebrating Language day. This is an annual event on our school timetable where the children learn about different languages from pupils from Kingston Grammar School, St John’s children, parents/carers, and staff. In order to make the day extra special, we are inviting the children to dress up. They can wear a traditional costume from a country of their choice or their own heritage, or they can dress up in the colours of a country’s flag. For example, red, white and green clothes represent Italy. The children should be able to tell us which country they are representing and why they have chosen that country.
Miss Wilson will be taking a group of children to the Chelsea FC Cobham training ground to take part in activities delivered by highly skilled and trained staff from the Chelsea FC Foundation. This programme will provide opportunities for pupils to take part in STEM-related activities, with a particular focus on Sphero Robot Football.
Anning Y4 will be going to Juniper Hall for a 3-day and 2-night residential visit. They will be learning in an outdoor environment, and developing their geography skills. We look forward to hearing about their trip in our next newsletter. Parents/Carers of children in Anning Y4 please refer to the trip letter sent earlier in the term to remind you about this.
On Thursday 23rd June, Darwin Y3 and Byron Y2 will be participating in this year’s Folk-Dance Festival. This festival will take place at Kingsmeadow, New Malden. This festival is a fun and informal event. It will begin at 9.30 am with a parade of the banners, followed by folk dances and the Maypole. It is scheduled to finish at 11:30 am. We will be staying for lunch afterwards. All parents are invited to attend this event.
Please keep an eye on the weather news updates and dress your child accordingly. They do not need the jumpers or fleece tops in hot weather.
