We are an Eco School and care for our world

Updated: Mar 12, 2021

We are proud to take part in the Eco - Schools program and have been awarded our Eco-Schools Green Flag. Our pupil led Eco Committee work hard to ensure the principals decided on during their environmental review of our school are implemented across the site. They have formed an action plan and ensure green practices are encouraged and used across the school and at home. Our Forest School and OWL have achieved a silver award from the Woodland Trust and are working hard to achieve Gold in 2021. They have also reached level 3 with the RHS Schools Scheme and are working toward level 5 on the allotment.

What is an Eco School?

Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging 19.5 million children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet. For over 25 years Eco-Schools has been empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness through the simple Seven-Step framework in order to achieve the international Eco-Schools Green Flag. Eco-Schools develops pupils’ skills, raises environmental awareness, improves the school environment and creates financial savings for schools as well as a whole host of other benefits.
